Dear Friends,

This past Sunday, the Gunnarn Church people met with another smaller church in their village nearby. Together, we held our regular Sunday worship service - a Communion Service. It was just so good to share the Lord’s Table with those folks. I really feel quite close to them all. Then, they gave me time to presented my Bible lesson. I was laying the groundwork for our study in the book of Romans. It has been a stretching experience for me and I have to dig hard and deep into the words and concepts that have such great significance to our Christian faith.
I need a car. My missionary friend, who owns the vehicle I was using, is returning from the Congo to rest for a bit. He needs his car back. He has had a number of bouts with malaria. His family will be with him, staying down near Lycksele. Transportation here is essential when you live so far out in the woods. I have been trying to borrow some old wreck to use for only 5 weeks but they all seem to be in use.
I brought 10 boxes of Jell-O over here to a fellow who requested them. I didn't know that there was such a shortage up here. Now, he is delighted and I have another item to include when I return again – boxes of Jell-O. This fellow told me that Jell-O reminded him of his childhood, when he was raised in the Caribbean. His mother made it for him when he was good. Now, could I deprive a 50-year-old man of his childhood memories?
I just paid a visit to my neighbor across the street. He lives in his wife’s old family farmhouse, dating back to 1890. As is typical of these vintage home sites, this one has a separate building called – the bread house. The owner took me for a stroll through it and it was just like walking through a museum. A great place to make pizza. I met another neighbor, Martin, as he was raking leaves. It is still cold here - in the thirties at night. The buds are forming on the trees - finally. Martin is OK. He had heard about me. Somehow, word gets around and they all wonder why in the world someone from a warm climate would come here. But it is really beautiful country and it does keep me off I-4.
So, back to my studies – Swedish language and the Apostle Paul.

In Christ,

George Wilson
